Privacy Policy

What the app uses, and why
Camera. When you tap Record or open Practice mode, the camera films your swing so the app can measure it. It films only while that screen is open and you have started it.
Videos you choose from Photos. If you pick a video, the app receives only that video, not the rest of your library. It checks the clip's framing and frame rate on your phone and widens its margins if the clip is less precise than a recording made in the app.
Motion sensor. While the camera is open, the phone's tilt shows whether it is level. It is not stored.
Speech. Practice mode can speak your result after each swing. The voice is made by iOS on your phone.
Notifications. If you allow them, the app schedules reminders on your phone: practice reminders the evening before a planned session, and a reminder two days before a free trial ends. Nothing is sent from a server.
Home Screen widget. The widget shows today's session. The app passes it a short summary that stays on your phone.
Where your data is kept
Swing analysis, using Apple's on-device body tracking, runs entirely on your iPhone. Your videos, key-position images, ratings, measurements, practice plan, practice log, rounds, profile and settings are saved in the app's storage on your device, and in your own device backups.
iCloud (optional). With iCloud sync on (Settings › Your data), the app keeps a copy of your analyses, plan, log, rounds, profile and settings in the private database of your own iCloud account, so they reach your other devices and come back if you reinstall. Videos are included only if you turn on "Back up videos too". Apple stores this under your Apple Account and its own privacy policy; the app's developer cannot read your private iCloud database. Turn sync off at any time.
Measurements of the app itself. The app records, on your phone, how fast Practice mode answers and how much battery it uses, so you can see them in Settings. They are never sent anywhere unless you choose to email them.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software, no third-party code that collects data, and no accounts or sign-in. When you share a swing card, sequence image, monthly report or coach report, it goes only where you send it, through the iPhone's share sheet.
This website and its forms
This website is a static site hosted by GitHub Pages; it has no cookies, analytics or tracking of its own. GitHub may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, under its own privacy policy.
Two forms are optional and separate from the app: the founding list (your email address and, if you like, your first name, used only to tell you when TrueTen launches and to offer the founding price) and the beta survey (anonymous answers, no name or email). Both are hosted by Tally (tally.so), which stores what you submit under Tally's privacy policy. To be removed from the founding list, email us and we will delete your entry. The app itself never sends these forms anything: if you tap the survey link in the beta, it opens in Safari.
Purchases
TrueTen Pro is sold by Apple. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account. The app asks Apple's StoreKit, on your phone, whether Pro is active. Apple may show you messages about your subscription (for example a billing problem) and may ask whether you'd like to rate the app. Manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone's Settings.
To apply the free version's weekly limit, the app stores the times of your recent analyses in your iPhone's Keychain, which iOS can keep even after the app is deleted. It holds nothing else and never leaves your phone.
Beta testing
If you test a pre-release version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share with us the information TestFlight collects, such as your name or email address if you were invited by email, crash reports and any feedback you choose to send. We use this only to improve the app. Beta versions also count, on your phone only, how many analyses you start and finish, where you filmed, the days you used the app, the share cards you made and your answers to "Was this rating fair?". Nothing is sent: you choose whether to share these numbers yourself.
Exporting and deleting your data
Settings › Your data › Export my data gives you one file with everything the app stores (plus your videos if you choose). Settings › Your data › Delete all my data removes your analyses, videos, plan, practice log, rounds, profile and settings from your phone and, if sync is on, from your iCloud. Only the analysis times in the Keychain (see Purchases) are kept, so the free weekly limit still applies; they contain nothing else. You can also delete single swings, rounds or practice entries, or delete the app.
Children
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
